Autumn/Winter 2023 @ Studio36

We are starting into Autumn/Winter term on Monday 6th November 2023. See info below for description of classes.

The new schedule is available to see on the website.

MEN'S PILATES CLASSES

Men's class - Pilates classes designed specifically for men.
Suitable for beginners or those with some previous experience, we focus on our joint hinges with an emphasis on stiff hips, knees and ankles and how we can help alleviate back issues.
Let's get that range back and practice movements necessary for getting up and down off the floor, low chairs, playing golf, tennis or simply putting on socks! Balance work and improving your mobility is what will help you stay healthy longer. Joints need to be kept flexible. Will use various bits of small exercise kit and possibly Reformers if numbers work.

NEW SCHEDULE: CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

  • HYBRID CLASS INTERMEDIATE: A class that is suitable for fairly able bodied clients who want a wee bit of a challenge. Decent pace with abdominal work and weight bearing though all body parts! Will involve small kit such as ova balls, bands and blocks. (need to have your own small kit) Zoomed to clients at same time.

  • HYBRID PILATES FOR LIFE: We are all ageing, but need to keep a functional range of movement in all joints, to be able to climb stairs, squat onto/off low seats, carry a decent load of shopping, get ourselves off the floor and pick up boxes/dogs/cats/small children. And play golf, tennis and swim etc if chose to do. Taught by physios Steph and myself, it is passion we both have for realising we need to work HARDER as we age, and maintain strength and flexibility. Lots of balance/fall prevention work. Also Zoomed to clients live. Contact the studio if require more info on these classes.

  • PILATES FOR LIFE (TUESDAY 12 noon.)  A class that is full of inspirational 70+ (mostly 80+) clients who work on those squats and 4 point exercises with energy and vigour! Not a complaint...well, only occasionally when they want to lie down and do relaxation!! Not routinely Zoomed. Too much chat about books/cooking/gardening usually!

  • REFORMER PILATES: Generally Monday 6.40pm with Laura, and Thursday 10.45am with me are a bit faster paced and balance challenging. But depends on the mood of the teacher on the day! Other classes are steady strong classical Pilates.
