Matwork Classes

Class numbers are kept low at a maximum of 12. This allows for plenty of individual attention and hands on correction, where the teacher can easily correct or modify an exercise to suit individual abilities or protect an injury. Classes are generally booked in a block, but initial sessions can always be arranged for new clients to the studio.

Classes are varied and fun, the teachers often introduce small pilates equipment such as rollers, bands and balls which helps to add another layer of resistance and challenge!

Mat Classes are currently on Zoom. See schedule below.

Pricing — Block booking please contact studio, but current cost works out at £12.80 per class (currently limited to 11 persons max per class.) Mat classes currently also available on Zoom. Contact studio re cost.

Specialist Bone Health Mat Class

With the growing evidence that exercise is beneficial for many joint conditions, Studio36 offers Bone Health Classes for clients who may have joint replacements, or possibly a diagnosis of Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or Osteoporosis. They are very much focused on strength and function, occasionally at a slower pace, but not always! Contact us and we can chat about whether this class might be suitable for you.

Pricing — For block booking please contact studio, but current cost works out at £12.80 per class (currently limited to 11 persons max per class.) Re Zoom Class - contact studio re cost.

How do I start?

If you are injury free and have previous matwork experience at a similar level, it may be possible to commence in a class immediately when a space is available.

If you are new to pilates or carrying an injury, Studio36 runs regular Beginner mat workshops to introduce all the basic principles and core exercises. These will be advertised on our blog or on Facebook.

Alternatively you may wish to attend a private 1:1 session to learn the ropes and when you’re ready the teacher will guide you to a suitable class. Mat classes are booked in a block of 10 consecutive sessions, with the opportunity to make up missed classes when there is availability - see T&C’s.
