Taking a break til Monday 19th July..

Happy Holidays, taking a bit of time out until Monday 19th July. However, just because we are taking a break, that does not mean you stop moving. Remember those hugely valuable MOVEMENT SNACKS? At a risk of sounding like a broken record, think less about exercise, more about movement. That's what makes the difference. Research solidly supports the fact it is best to keep moving and even move MORE as we get older, not less.

Here are a few movement suggestions:

  • Throw a few squats, especially if have dodgy knees, hips or lower back. Do not lose that skill or function is massively effected. Remember http://www.squattypotty.com Oh joy!!

  • Sit down/up with awareness. Same point as above.

  • Climb your stairs, or find some steps if in bungalow!

  • Crawl around your bedroom picking up stray socks.

  • Clear out really high cupboards, cobwebs on ceiling, reaching reaching. Lift breastbone as look up - less neck.

  • Mobilise those feet, onto tiptoes if possible when reaching or balancing? Try walking barefoot a bit.

  • Garden, lifting stuff and carrying.

  • Paddleboard? Brilliant exercise.

  • Sea swim. Aware STILL need to brave that one in Strangford Lough - am much better when in Brittas Bay in Wicklow! Know I would be converted!

  • Walk loads.

  • Dance, balancing on one leg, and when finished dancing, line up those containers and stand TALL.

See you on 19th for Summer Zoom or Reformers, or give us a shout if keen to start!
