Stephanie Pruzina

Stephanie graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist from UUJ in 1988 and quickly specialised in treating people with musculoskeletal problems. After a short sojourn in North Wales she returned home and has spent most of her working life in the out patient department of the Ulster Hospital.

Stephanie came to Pilates through her developing interest in current theories of muscle balance and how poor alignment is implicated in the development of chronic joint disorders. It is for this reason that she really liked the BODY CONTROL Method as it so carefully analyses good quality movement and makes it accessible for every body.

She has been teaching Pilates exercises for some years now but finally got around to converting her initial qualification to the BODY CONTROL standard in June 2013. This was a great decision as it has really opened her eyes to the full potential of Body Control to promote holistic well-being through movement.

She feels the best part of the job is seeing surprise on the face of someone with back pain when they get up from the mat feeling better!

Outside of work, Stephanie likes anything to do with the outdoors and has a peculiar obsession with orienteering - don't knock it ‘til you try it!
