Studio36 Re-opening!
OK here we go ...next stage regarding the imminent return to ‘real’ in studio classes @ Studio36. The summer has been great attendance wise with lots of Zoomers, just not so great weather wise- maybe September will be beautiful?
Pretty excited to be getting close to opening again - there has been a lot of planning!
With this blog l am reaching out to Zoomers, non Zoomer pre-lockdown clients and potential new clients..
I have had a chance to chat things over with teachers. The priority is to look after everyone, both teachers and clients, and we are all doing our very best to keep us all safe and protected as possible… but I never lose sight of the fact that of course it’s got to be fun! Things will be different for a while at least ...we have all had adapt quite a bit already but we'll get there!!
Studio is closed next week commencing 31st August. This is to allow us to do final preparations for us opening the door again on Monday 7th September. This will very much be a phased process so please read the main points carefully to get a handle on the plans ahead.
In summary, Stephanie Pruzina and Laura Murray (now Glenn actually!) are coming back to the studio to teach live classes from Sept 7th. Laura returns from maternity leave to step back into Monday night…we are thrilled to have her back but also sad to see Jayne temporarily go…I know many of you have been taught by her and she has been just fantastic. Really keen to get her back teaching in the studio once things settle. Megan Oliver is going to continue all her classes by ZOOM at the moment. I think this is ideal as it means less clients in studio until we see how things work out.
Please see how we plan to work below ...

SCHEDULE of Classes for next few weeks.
1.OWN EQUIPMENT
All clients will need own mat and equipment to attend classes. Many of you have gathered kit already. I have extras here so if don't have at start don't worry - but please try if possible to bring your mat. We'll work rest out as we go along. As a Studio36 client you even get your own lovely Studio36 kit bag to carry it in...
Essentials are:
Ova ball.
Spikey ball (any colour)
Non latex Theraband (see notes below)
Block (approx 5cm depth)
Head cushion (normal thin one fine)
Mat (ideally 10-12mm thick..so not a very thin yoga mat - hard floor)
These can all be sourced online but l will also have some stock (see picture below) available in the studio to buy. (EXCEPT mats..you must bring your own mat). Please note the Theraband must be non Latex and medium strength, and at least 1.8m long.
Bring own water too, we will not be using the filtered water fountain for now.
2. CLASS FORMAT
Classes will either be
Zoom ONLY (Megan's for now)
Studio and Zoom at the same time. This will be slightly different from Zoom options up to now. The focus of the teacher will be on the clients in the studio, so those joining remotely will see an overview of the class and teacher...even more important to work within your ability! This will be a trial for the next few weeks but will allow access for clients not ready to return to studio for various reasons, self isolators, quarantiners, and lovers of convenience of ZOOM!
Studio ONLY (Reformer classes).
This combination of classes gives us maximum flexibility – because if the last few weeks are anything to go by- we’re definitely going to need it!
Please see schedule below to see options. Priority will be given to existing clients already attending Zoom classes.
Zoom will be the same link as all summer classes- this worked well over Summer especially with swaps etc.
3. PAYMENT SYSTEM / COSTS
Classes will revert to a pre-lockdown cost of £10 Matwork (whether in studio or Zoom) and £15 Reformer. These prices may need to be increased slightly down the line due to costs associated with new regime/cleaning etc. but lets keep it the same for now!
Payments will be by bank transfer or contactless as far as possible. We now have a Square contactless card payment system in the Studio. This will reduce the handling of cash/cheques significantly. Bank transfers are great too. I will be in touch if monies owed!
4. SHORTER CLASSES
Classes will have to be shorter than before to allow 30 minutes between classes and plenty of time for floor washing and extra cleaning
Classes will initially all start at 45 MINUTES LONG - we introduced this over the summer and it has proved a good length for ZOOM classes and it will help give more time for movement in/out of Studio.
There is a full Covid-19 protocol for entering /leaving the studio www.studio36ni.com/blog/covid-19-policy - PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING THE STUDIO.
5. SMALLER CLASSES
The Studio is a big space and adhering to all guidelines we can comfortably fit 6 Reformers and 11 clients for Matwork....but for Matwork we are going to start with 8 to see how we go. This may involve some clients being asked to ZOOM for a week if necessary, we will try and make this as fair as possible.
6. PRIVATES/STUDIO SESSIONS
We are reintroducing these gradually, again in a socially distanced way in the studio..bear with us , but if you are a regular private client we will be in touch shortly to organise a session.
7. SCHEDULE
See below.
PHEW!.....thats enough for now. I will be in touch with all classes to sort finer details, but if interested in Stephanie's class times please contact her on 07854 229319 or stephpruzina@aol.com.
All others I will sort.
