Remember this view??

Some things don't change with pandemics...and one of them is the view from Studio36. We hope you and your nearest and dearest are all keeping well. Also a very Happy (locked down) Spring Bank Holiday or VE Day Holiday as it was officially known.

As we completed week 7, and waited with baited breath to see what Boris said on Sunday, I just wanted to touch base with all Studio36 audience - past, present and future..

As predicted, it looks like ZOOMING classes are with us for a while. As many of you know, a total of 22 weekly Pilates classes have been successfully going live in Studio36 since lockdown. Apparently many of us are currently going through a tricky phase, which may resonate with some of you. After a stress driven frenzy of great intentions and getting things sorted, at this stage of a prolonged situation there can often be a sense of brain fog, lethargy and "can't be botheredness' (not a word, I know!)

This is honestly where l believe the routine of getting Pilates gear on, 'showing up' for your class and moving your body is vitally important, and interestingly attendance has definitely been up! VERY few clients missing a class! Personally I am loving the opportunity of doing regular Pilates classes with some of my training teachers at Body Control Pilates. Fantastic.

We don't want to jinx it, but apart from a few inevitable hiccups, the system has been working very well..and as a bonus we have also met many cats, dogs, children, partners, and seen a lot of ceilings and lovely table lamps!

A big Thank You again for all your support and encouragement during this 'new way to teach pilates' time.

Up to this point it has been current clients only, but we would like to encourage past clients or those with experience in Pilates to get in touch and possibly hop into a class and give it a go! Not quite ready for Beginners Classes yet..but the time is surely coming!!

Research massively supports the fact that exercise is so important for joint function and also mental health. Think of Pilates as a way to help you walk efficiently and with ease, enjoy being outside, or..stretch for that bar of chocolate on the top shelf that you've been hiding from everyone else!! (my hiding places have all been rumbled..getting desperate now!).

Importantly don't forget those MOVEMENT SNACKS..exercise doesn't have to be a full hour session, 10 squats in your kitchen is a fantastic way to maintain range and strength of hips, knees and ankles. And keep up BALANCE work!!

See below for a quick chat re LOCKDOWN NECK..a potential big issue at the moment.

We do miss seeing you all and are looking forward to returning to the studio. Like everyone else our thoughts are turning towards the 'what's next' phase. It is still very much unknown, but we can guarantee it will be different for a while, and will happen when we can do so safely, of course prioritising the health and wellbeing of clients over speed of return.

We will endeavour to keep you informed at every stage either through email or Facebook.

PS: The photo below is the Body Control Singalong of 'We'll Meet Again' on Friday for VE Day..see if you can spot Lynn Robinson on the screen, founder of BCP!

Take care and keep well,
Ali x
